January 2010 has come to a close, so here is a recap of my 2010 challenges progress so far.
Challenge #1: Watch all of LOST seasons 1-5 before the final season premieres on February 2nd, 2010.
Progress: Complete!
As you might have seen in my last post, I finished this challenge right on time. Watching all of LOST again was an amazing experience. It was so great to catch all the little ins and outs the writers stuck in there from the beginning and see where it has all led up to. Challenge #2: Lose weight on the South Beach Diet.
Progress: Fantastic progress was made in January. I got through Phase 1, even with my added extra week for a total of three. Phase 2 has been fine and the weight loss has continued at a pretty steady pace. I started on January 1st at 233.7. I am proud to say on January 31st I was down to 208.6, a total loss of 25.1 lbs.
I am eating better, clothes are fitting looser and I feel great about myself from all the compliments I receive. This challenge, despite being numbered “2″ is definitely the most important right now, and it is also going the best.
Here is a chart from an iPhone app I’ve been using, called “WeightBot”. I will post these charts on the monthly wrap-ups so you can get a visual sense of how its going. The gray dotted line is my actual loss throughout the month, and the blue line is a trend-line showing expected time to reach my goal of 190lbs. It currently forecasts about mid-March.
Challenge #3: Start photography career
Progress: While I haven’t talked much about this one, I have made some headway. I have started work on an online storefront in which I’ll sell some of my photography, and am looking into some craft show type venues to display at as well. More to come.
Challenge #4: Read more!
Progress: If you’ve been keeping up with the blog, you’ll know that I’ve been reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I haven’t made any progress to speak of as of late, but I am a majority of the way through the book and am sure I can probably finish it off by the end of February. My LOST challenge has obviously taken up a lot of free time in the evenings, so there should be more space now that it’s over for things like this.
Challenge #5: Blog all this crap!
Progress: I posted a total of 18 new blogs throughout the month of January. Not half bad considering that this post you are now reading is actually my 50th posted blog. That means that this January alone, I posted more than a third of my total posts. And with 31 days in the month, I posted a little more than half a blog per day, or basically, one every other day. Readership from my web statistics has been surprisingly positive, but I aim to get more people reading in the near future!
