Introducing: The Bromantic Basterds

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Hello blog, it’s been a while. I have valid excuses for my lack of postings in the last month. Most of them deal with my having started my own company which I’ve mentioned previously in the podcast. The good news is for now at least, I’m back. And back with some basterdness.

If you’ve read this blog for a while or listened to the podcasts you may have heard the name of my hetero lifemate, Mr. Michael V. Cannetti. If you are unfamiliar with the term “hetero lifemate,” you’re clearly not a Kevin Smith fan for one. But I will paste an excellent definition that I lifted from the good old Urban Dictionary anyway:

A best friend who is so close, that were they not to match your sexual orientation, you would be married to them.

That certainly describes my friend and what a scary universe it would be if he were a woman, but I digress. Mike and I met in college; unfortunately late if you ask either of us, but we’ve done our best to make up for lost time. Whether descending on the unsuspecting masses in Atlantic City or doing some surfing photography where we plan to some day actually capture an image of Mike up on his surf board, we have loads of fun.

Best of the Commercial Bowl 2010!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

I am not a big football fan. The only time I ever watch a game is usually the Superbowl, and even then I tend to pay much more attention to the commercials than the actual game. (Though I am happy for the Saints, go you!)

This year was no different. I spent most of the night watching Law & Order reruns and playing Mass Effect 2. Occasionally we’d tune in to see what was going on and had the impeccable timing of flipping back right before the halftime show featuring, The Who.

Funny thing about The Who… I hate that song, “Who Are You?”.  And for some reason it’s the only song I’ve ever associated with, The Who. Come to find out they have a ton of other epic music. Songs that I love, that I had no idea they sung. Turns out I like The Who. Go fig.

I digress, on to the commercials…

On having a nemesis…

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

It’s important in life to have a best friend. Someone who will be there to help you out no matter what, and always make you smile when you need it.

On the other hand, it is almost unavoidable to have an arch enemy. A nemesis. Some fiend that plagues your nightmares and causes you need to constantly watch over your shoulder, lest they stab you in the back.

Mine is the Gorton’s Fisherman. I know what you are thinking. But you are wrong. He is REAL. First off, Gorton’s Fisherman has been leading his evil campaign for years before I was born. He cleverly disguises himself as a friendly fisherman bringing frozen fish goods like fish-sticks and the like into families homes for decades. Every commercial includes a jingle. A famous jingle that you’d be hard pressed to find a person who doesn’t know it.
