Final Fantasy XIII – Initial Impressions

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of my “Initial Impressions” gaming posts. I think my last was way back when Fallout 3 came out. I thought that the newest entry into the Final Fantasy series deserved post however, so here it is…

Way back in the year 1997, a game was released for the Sony Playstation called: Final Fantasy VII. It was my first real foray into the RPG (Role-playing game) genre. I absolutely loved it. I’m sure I had seen or dabbled in other RPG’s before (probably Secret of Mana or something similar at friend’s houses), but this is my first real sturdy memory of playing all the way through an RPG that I myself owned.

Pete’s Wednesday Comics Picks – 2/3/10

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Its Wednesday again, which means its time for the second edition of “Pete’s Wednesday Comics Picks”.

I am unfortunately running fairly far behind in my comics. As you may have read in previous posts, I was trying all of January to re-watch LOST seasons 1 through 5 before the premiere episode last night. This took up a huge chunk of time and has forced me to be quite backlogged in the comics world. In fact I still haven’t gotten around to reading the books I picked up last week. Rest assured, this is all something I am seeking to remedy as soon as possible.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Killstreak Rewards and other info

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

As many of you know, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is releasing in November and is probably one of, if not the most, anticipated game of the year. Information about it has been slowly trickling out over time, but as we quickly approach the release, the floodgates are starting to open. I was watching a video on gametrailers.com earlier in which two of the Infinite Ward Devs were demoing some info. I captured the below frames while they were flicking through some of the Killstreak Rewards real quick. It shows 11 of the unlockable killstreak rewards. I think there are more to be obtained than what you see here, but some of these are pretty cool. I’ll include a screenshot (click screenshots for larger image) and a text blurb for each, and extra info if I have it.

Microsoft E3 press briefing news SPOILERS POSSIBLY

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Here is a rehash of the Micrsosoft Press Briefing from today at the e3 expo in Los Angeles, CA. Some really great stuff has been announced and demo’d so far.

This list is probably a little bit out of order and missing some things, but these were things that really stood out to me.

Fallout 3 – The Pitt DLC …Incomprehensible FAIL

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Oh… my… god…

Some time ago I wrote a review on here about Operation: Anchorage, the first DLC content from Bethesda for Fallout 3. Fallout 3 itself was amazing. Operation: Anchorage kinda sucked. In keeping the downhill trend going, the newest DLC, The Pitt is completely awful.

What were they thinking!? First off, I can’t believe I finished it. At the time of this writing it’s 8:22 PM. I finished playing Fallout just after 8PM. Here comes the kicker… I started playing at 6PM. That’s right ladies and gentleman… it took me less than two hours to play through the entire DLC. I say less than, because it took me a good 5-10 minutes dropping off gear in my house at Megaton and traveling to the mission start point.
